2016 Earth Day Celebration

On the 23rd April, Labuan International School successfully organised their first Earth Day Celebrations, by having 15 primary and secondary schools in Labuan and beyond, or a total of 180 students, participated in Story Telling, Public Speaking, Essay Writing, Drawing and Poster Contests.

2016 Chinese New Year Celebration

Chinese New Year is a time of celebration and it is also a time of reunion for the LIS family: students, teachers and parents gathered together for a dinner.

CNY CELEBRATION 2017

Labuan International School organized a Chinese New Year pot luck dinner on the 8th February 2017. The objective of this event is to bring people together to enjoy fellowship and make new acquaintances while ushering the year of rooster.

Literary Day 2017

LIS Celebrates Linguistics in Diversity. (9th May 2017)
The objective of Literary Day is to acknowledge literacy and its use of multiple language within the community of Labuan International School (LIS). We in LIS, takes full advantage of this diversity and showcasing them through the presentation of various genre and language. There were about 15 performances that consists of singing performances, tongue twister, storytelling, choral speaking, musical drama,pantun,  deklamasi sajak, bicara berirama and bercerita. The event also featured contemporary and traditional dance performances.

Labuan International School Graduates Expressed Their Gratitude to Teachers and Parents on Testimonial Day

Nineteen students will bid farewell to Labuan International School this year. They will be sitting for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia and IGCSE this coming November. Students were given a written recommendation affirming their character and their academic, as well as non-academic performance at LIS Testimonial Day on last Friday.

World Speech Day

Labuan International School celebrated World Speech Day with the Labuan Toastmasters Club on 15 March, Thursday with the theme "A Better World" this year.

Commencement Day 2017 themed "Our Tribute to Academic Excellence" was held on 14 April 2018. Congratulations to all achievers!

English Language Carnival 2018

Labuan International School (LIS) recently organised an English Language Carnival. Included in the carnival was: a choral speaking competition, a public speaking competition and a formal debate. LIS students came second place in The Choral Speaking Competition, achieved second and third place in The Debate and won third place in The Public Speaking Competition.

World Speech Day 2019

15th March 2019 was an auspicious day at Labuan International School, where everyone gathered in the school auditorium to express their emotions as global citizens. The theme for this year’s speeches is Global Citizen: It’s State of Mind. The World Speech Day is an annual event in LIS as it helps the students to not only improve their English and the way they present themselves but also to overcome stage fright like most people have. This has been proof that most students who did present themselves in the World Speech Day have improved their grammar and most importantly, LEVELLED UP THEIR CONFIDENCE!

LIS Language Carnival 2019


On Saturday the 3rd August I competed in the LIS Storytelling Competition 2019. Melissa and I and students from four other schools recited fairy tales with a twist. This competition was held in the auditorium.
